COMMON HOOPOE
Hoopoes Upupa epops (Eurasian Hoopoe) are medium-sized birds with long, broad, rounded wings, slightly de-curved bills and unique fan-like crests thatopen over the top of the head.
Their calls are soft, quick, poo-poo-poo notes, which give them their common name. They nest in cavities in rocks, trees and buildings and feed on the ground, searching for insects, worms, small reptiles and other creatures.
